Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sustainability Initiatives to lead our company's sustainability efforts and promote environmental responsibility across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sustainability Communication & Advocacy: Serve as the primary advocate for our sustainability initiatives, communicating the vision to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead presentations, meetings, and tours to educate and inform stakeholders about sustainability efforts.
  • Strategic Program Execution: Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to design and implement sustainability-driven marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Expertise: Serve as the company's ESG expert, guiding stakeholders on sustainability matters and managing responses to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Sustainability Data Management: Maintain and update all relevant sustainability data, including recycled content and sustainability metrics.
  • Collaboration with Senior Management: Partner with technical teams and senior management to align sustainability goals with business objectives.
  • Expense & Policy Compliance: Manage department expenses and ensure adherence to company safety regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications
  • Certification: LEED-AP Certified
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent experience developing and communicating sustainability programs
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing sustainability projects
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present to diverse audiences
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work variable hours and travel 30%-40% of the time
