Executive Sous Chef

The Molly Pitcher Inn seeks an experienced Executive Sous Chef to contribute to the day-to-day operations of its kitchen. This individual will oversee training, supervision, and cooking for the on-site restaurant, room service, and all hotel functions.

• Train and supervise culinary staff for proper coverage while managing payroll costs effectively.
• Foster a respectful work environment through inspiring communication.
• Prepare daily/weekly prep sheets and complete nightly meat and seafood inventories.

This role is responsible for ensuring proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products according to Health Department regulations. The ideal candidate must maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, adhere to cost and quality control procedures, and take pride in the quality of food execution and presentation.

1. Support kitchen leadership in scheduling culinary staff and maintaining payroll costs.
2. Maintain a respectful work environment through effective communication.
3. Prepare and complete daily/weekly prep sheets and nightly meat and seafood inventories.
4. Evaluate and improve kitchen processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

• Minimum four years' experience as an Executive Sous Chef with prior direct supervisory experience of kitchen staff.
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Willing to receive corrective feedback and implement improvements.
• Thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and preparation methods.
