Position Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Professional will engage in hands-on activities and serve as a key information resource regarding designated responsibilities to fellow Quality Assurance personnel. This role demands leadership capabilities across multiple intricate projects. The individual will be tasked with designing, implementing, maintaining, and recommending enhancements to new functionalities and features, ensuring the test plans are updated and evaluation processes are effectively produced. Close collaboration with Developers and Project Managers will be essential in defining and designing performance testing requirements. The incumbent will lead other engineers to guarantee comprehensive test coverage and optimal test performance prior to product launch.
The role also encompasses managing action items such as coordinating each project's schedule (entry & approval) and test plans, while reporting risk factors such as blocking issues to relevant stakeholders before product launch or carrier entry dates, along with diligent follow-up on these matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D to implement new standards and adapt to specification-related changes and/or carrier-specific requirements.
  • Utilize technical engineering expertise to comprehend customer applications, test cases, and requirements, ensuring effective interworking with teams across various time zones.
  • Work autonomously, determining the approach to tasks, with supervision based on milestone achievements and critical deliverable junctures.
  • Identify necessary documentation and processes for projects, assisting in the formulation of design requirements.
  • Analyze test data and reports to ascertain whether designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Work alongside other engineering teams to assess the interface between hardware and software products.
  • Diagnose protocol and system-level issues from carriers, meticulously screening and debugging reported issues, while overseeing IOT and field tests through comprehensive log analysis.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and third-party engineers to execute required testing tasks.
  • Provide one-on-one training to fellow engineers in technical processes.
  • Create and update technical documentation, test processes, and work procedures.
  • Understand requirements and core functionalities of new features from Samsung and competitors.
  • Responsible for developing new test cases and validating various test scenarios, ensuring accuracy in test results and performance of new features.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the wireless sector, preferably within Mobile Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the QA lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with wireless technologies such as GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/LTE/5G and Radio Interface.
  • Familiarity with 5G technologies is advantageous, including mmWave/Sub6 and Beamforming.
  • Strong understanding of LTE features, including VoLTE/ViLTE/VoWiFi/RCS messages/OTA Activation.
  • Proficient in using log capturing and processing tools such as QXDM, QCAT, QPST, QMICM, NNEXT, SHANNON DM, N-Trace, Mobile Analyzer, Artemis, Debug Mux, Spy Tracer, Odin, XCAL, Mobile Datum, PC Datum, Wire shark/WindCatcher/Actix/XCAP-M.
  • Experience with Spirent/Metrico tools: NOMAD/MUSE/Datum.
  • Solid knowledge of advanced LTE features, including QAM, LAA, Carrier Aggregation, MIMO, and BeamForming.
  • Expertise in IMS SIP (Session Initiated Protocol), VoLTE & IR94 call processing.
  • Able to conduct tests in driving conditions and travel as necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside effective communication (both verbal and written) and organizational abilities.
  • Core competencies in Java and/or C#, with familiarity in scripting languages such as Python for writing test automation code using Eclipse, Android Studio, or Visual Studio.
  • Capable of performing tasks under time constraints and stress, which may include periodic or cyclical challenges, time-sensitive deadlines, and project management requirements.
