Position Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Professional will take a proactive role in providing insights and support to the Quality Assurance team regarding their designated responsibilities. This individual will possess leadership skills to manage multiple intricate projects effectively. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining test plans while recommending enhancements for new functionalities and features. Close collaboration with Developers and Project Managers is essential to establish and define performance testing requirements. The role also involves leading engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and optimal performance prior to product release.
This position entails managing various action items, including coordinating project schedules (entry & approval) and test plans, as well as reporting risk factors to internal groups and headquarters, such as critical issues prior to product launch or carrier entry dates, and following up on these matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Research and Development to implement new standards and specifications, including carrier-specific requirements.
  • Utilize technical expertise to comprehend customer applications, test cases, and requirements, while effectively working with teams across different time zones.
  • Work autonomously, determining the approach to tasks, with supervision primarily based on milestones and key deliverables.
  • Identify necessary documentation and processes for projects, assisting in the development of design requirements.
  • Analyze test data and reports to verify that designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Work alongside engineering teams to assess the interface between hardware and software products.
  • Diagnose protocol and system-level issues reported by carriers, conducting thorough log analysis and overseeing IOT and field tests.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and third-party engineers in executing required testing tasks.
  • Provide one-on-one training to fellow engineers in technical processes.
  • Create and update technical documentation, testing processes, and work procedures.
  • Understand core functions and new features from both Samsung and its competitors.
  • Responsible for developing new test cases and validating various testing scenarios to ensure accuracy and performance of new features.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the wireless sector, preferably in Mobile Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience in the QA lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G.
  • Familiarity with 5G technologies, including mmWave and Sub6, is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of LTE features, including VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi, RCS messages, and OTA activation.
  • Proficient in using log capturing and processing tools like QXDM, QCAT, QPST, and others.
  • Experience with Spirent/Metrico tools is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of advanced LTE features, including QAM, LAA, Carrier Aggregation, MIMO, and Beamforming.
  • Expertise in IMS SIP, VoLTE, and IR94 call processing.
  • Able to conduct tests in driving conditions and travel as required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Core competencies in Java and/or C#, with familiarity in scripting languages like Python for test automation.
  • Ability to perform under time constraints and manage stress associated with periodic deadlines and project management.
