Job Summary

Sakata Seed America, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seed Enhancement Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Seed Enhancement activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Seed Enhancement Team: Directly supervise employees in Seed Enhancement, including ADP, schedules, and temporary workers.
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Efficiently run and clean required seed conditioning, seed enhancement, and packaging equipment in the Logistics Department.
  • Ensure Cleanliness and Organization: Responsible for ensuring clean-ups between varieties are checked and signed off on to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Order and manage inventory of supplies, conducting regular checks to determine when ordering is necessary.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare a monthly report due on the 1st of each month and send it to the Assistant Operations Manager and Senior Operations Manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of equipment in the Logistics Department.
  • Meet Performance Targets: Meet or exceed established target throughput for assigned areas while maintaining quality requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; high school or college science courses desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum two years' experience in the seed industry preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent visual, mathematical, and judgmental skills; excellent supervisory skills; strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to manage stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and honesty.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods; ability to work with chemicals, pesticides, and other irritating substances.
