Transit Maintenance Facilities Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Transit Maintenance Facilities Project Manager to join our team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and experience with transit infrastructure design. The successful candidate will work closely with architects and engineers to coordinate equipment utilities and physical requirements within new and renovated buildings. This includes reviewing client operations and recommending vehicle maintenance equipment and equipment layouts to maximize operational processes for bus and rail operations.
Responsibilities:- Manage and deliver design services on-time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.
- Analyze operational processes and related information to improve operational efficiency.
- Review client building program areas to determine overall facility space needs.
- Develop equipment layouts in cooperation with management and user personnel.
- Design the layout of facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate rolling stock equipment requirements with a building design team.
- Prepare construction drawings and vehicle service equipment bid specifications.
- Review equipment submittals during construction.
- Apply technical skills as a subject matter expert in the coordination of planning, design, construction, value engineering, cost estimating, risk assessment, and/or scheduling.
- Provide expert opinions, prepare high-level reports, and deliver presentations.
- Assist WRA in client relations and project management in the region.
- Degree in Civil, Structure, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Relevant rail and bus facility design and construction experience; emphasis on rail facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership in leading large-scale projects as well as project development ranging from planning, alternatives analysis, environmental process, permitting, final design, construction, safety certification, and commissioning facilities.
