Missile Design and Analysis Engineer Opportunity

Axient LLC is seeking a highly skilled Missile Design and Analysis Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Group, you will be responsible for conducting threat ballistic and cruise missile design and analysis studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the characterization, documentation, and implementation of overall missile system design in support of various defense initiatives and customers.
  • Gather and disseminate intelligence information, develop initial system characterization, and develop modeling effort planning across technical disciplines.
  • Perform initial design studies and analysis to identify and close any identified gaps, and document efforts.
  • Support the multidisciplinary technical team developing missile models through coordination and design decision making to ensure a coherent model is developed.
  • Perform analysis efforts supporting multiple customers using intelligence products and available models and data.
  • Compare intelligence information to existing data for various uses and purposes.
  • Develop background information and support briefings that capture analysis, intelligence information, and technology trends.
  • Perform studies and initial modeling efforts in support of various customer needs on quick turn tasking with limited scopes.
  • Generate specification documentation and files to capture threat characterizations as needed for various customers in the customer-appropriate formats.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and Statistics.
  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python.
  • Strong skills in computer programming and conducting experiments.
  • US citizenship and a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree in STEM.
  • Linux programming and scripting proficiency.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. SVN or Git).
  • Familiarity with a software ticketing system (e.g. JIRA).
  • Current Secret or Top Secret clearance.
