Job Summary

Abacus is seeking a highly experienced Code Enforcement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Code Enforcement department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing code enforcement projects, directing and monitoring project schedules and budgets, and reviewing and approving plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement code enforcement projects, including making revisions to the Code Enforcement manual and improving the Vacant and Neglected Structures process.
  • Direct and monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
  • Review and approve plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assess procedures and documentation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Direct and advise inspectors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective code enforcement.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of supervisory management experience in the administration of Code Enforcement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including community representatives, external agencies, and other organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze organizational and community needs and develop strategic partnerships.
