Job Summary

The Oak Park Park District is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Inclusion Aide. This role is responsible for providing support and supervision to participants in our inclusion programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision and safety of participants in our inclusion programs, including Clubhouse, Schools Out Days, and Holiday Break Camp.
  • Work closely with on-site supervisors to develop and implement a safe and fun environment for participants.
  • Provide individual support to participants as needed, and assist with program activities and events.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, safety checks, and program evaluations.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on program developments and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive and supportive experience for all.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of program activities, including setup and cleanup.
  • Ensure a clean and safe program environment, and report any concerns or issues to management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. education, recreation, social work) preferred.
  • Experience working with children and youth, particularly those with disabilities or special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds, and to stand, sit, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED required within 1 month of employment.
  • Background check required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a recreation or park district setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusion principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
