Job Summary

Assist with the delivery of a specific YMCA program to the membership and community, focusing on youth development and healthy living. Work under general supervision, following standard practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote and incorporate the YMCA's five core values and character development model into all program activities.
  2. Prepare registration forms and assist in marketing and distributing program information.
  3. Organize and schedule program registrations, communicate with the front desk regarding scheduling program meetings and registration dates and deadlines.
  4. Maintain accurate records of all registrations for statistical reporting.
  5. Assist the Program Director in the operation of the program, develop activities for programs, and work with the supervisor to maintain and/or increase program quality and participation.
  6. Assist with special projects as requested, demonstrate physical, emotional, and intellectual competencies necessary for self-control and good judgment when performing assigned duties.
  7. Coordinate the use of center facilities for program activities and events, assist in center fundraising activities and special events.
  8. Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner, report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations, and follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
  9. Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance, such as Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.

Qualifications
  1. Minimum age of 18 years old and five years older than the youngest participant.
  2. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
  3. Previous experience working with children preferred.
  4. Previous experience with diverse populations.

Ability to read, interpret, retain, and teach documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure/educational manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents, staff, members of the YMCA, and/or others.Mathematical Skills

Flexible with scheduling and available to work operational hours of the YMCA, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays, based on the center needs.
