**Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs in a classroom setting, focusing on behavior intervention and medical assistance.
  • Assist teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchrooms, and play fields.
  • Support students in enhancing their learning experience, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
  • Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Valid driver's license may be required; compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
  • First Aid/CPR certification may be required.
