Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Metrowest Medical Center. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial psychological assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients, focusing on treatment goals and promoting positive behavioral changes.
  • Collaborate with other unit staff to assess and evaluate patient mental status, initiating and maintaining therapeutic relationships.
  • Document patient progress, including mental status and significant interactions, and prepare regular reports for the treatment team.
  • Support and educate family members and significant others regarding patient status, working with outside agencies as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
  • BLS required.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a patient care environment, with periodic risk from combative or abusive patients. Regular walking and standing are also required during the normal course of duties.
