Overview:
This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of security protocols, risk management strategies, and leadership capabilities to maintain a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa, including property inspections and staff training.
- Conduct regular risk evaluations and security audits to pinpoint potential vulnerabilities and enhance safety measures. Perform daily documented inspections of the entire property to promote safe work practices.
- Oversee all emergency protocols, including the development of a comprehensive training and development plan.
- Respond promptly to security-related incidents.
- Maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Collaborate with various departments such as hotel operations, human resources, and finance to ensure alignment with loss prevention initiatives.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and external security partners as necessary to address security issues or emergencies.
- Manage daily operations of the loss prevention, security, and shipping and receiving departments, including personnel management and staff oversight.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in loss prevention, law enforcement, risk management, security, or a related field.
- Familiarity with hotel operations.
- High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, surveillance techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to loss prevention and security.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Supervisory experience is essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
