Position Overview:

$2,500 sign-on bonus and
$2,500 relocation (for greater than 50 miles)

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will assess and provide therapeutic interventions for patients across various age groups. You will also serve as a mentor in the provision of professional services and act as a clinical resource for both staff and students.



Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Master’s Degree in a Related Field

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
Illinois Speech Language Pathology (SLP) License upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) certification within 30 days.

EXPERIENCE
New graduates are encouraged to apply.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete all necessary continuing education related to the care of acute stroke patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather comprehensive case history and integrate information from patients, families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals. Select and administer suitable evaluation methods tailored to patient needs, while respecting their values, preferred communication styles, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Conduct thorough assessments in speech and language pathology, utilizing appropriate materials and tools for prevention and intervention.
  • Design and implement a care plan that is appropriate for the setting, with clear, measurable goals that address patient needs. Collaborate with patients and relevant parties in the planning process.
  • Analyze and synthesize all gathered information to formulate a treatment plan and provide suitable recommendations for intervention.
  • Evaluate and execute intervention strategies that focus on enhancing the functional and emotional well-being of patients and their families. Adjust methods based on patient responses and performance.
  • Employ standardized outcome measures and assessments uniformly to accurately reflect functional performance.
  • Maintain documentation in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Engage with patients, families, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation journey, offering education and training as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate patient progress, changes in condition, and recommendations for dietary and activity modifications with the medical team, ensuring appropriate next steps in care.
