Job Overview

The Utility Operator position involves the management of packaging machinery within a production setting. This role requires the ability to make informed decisions to address any discrepancies in daily operations by assessing situations against established operational protocols related to quality and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate machinery by starting and stopping as necessary, adhering to safety protocols during these processes.

· Acquire proficiency in operating at least two different technologies.

· Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, including jams, and perform basic maintenance tasks such as clearing damaged materials.

· Load raw materials, including cartons, leaflets, and cartridges onto conveyors and other feeding mechanisms.

· Replenish packaging materials and prepare raw materials for order changes.

· Conduct quality inspections on finished products and accurately document production efficiencies.

· Collaborate with team members to coordinate work assignments.

· Carry out minor maintenance on highly automated robotic systems and maintain cleanliness in the work area.

· Provide guidance to contract personnel assigned to production lines.

· Execute additional tasks as required.

· Maintain regular attendance.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

· Capability to perform basic arithmetic and use a calculator.

· Effective oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to perform basic computer functions with training.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

· Expected to stand for 5 – 8 hours, walk for 3 – 5 hours, and sit for 1 – 3 hours.

· Lifting requirements include:

0 – 10 lbs: 3 – 5 hours

10 – 25 lbs: 3 – 5 hours

25 – 50 lbs: 1 – 3 hours

50+ lbs: 0 – 1 hours with assistance.

· Activities performed include climbing, stooping, kneeling, grasping, reaching, pushing/pulling, and keyboarding, with varying frequencies.
