VMI Controls Systems- Facilities Management Job

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Trades Technician IV to manage and maintain control systems at the Virginia Military Institute. This includes HVAC and electronic access systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying, modifying, and updating schedules for these systems, as well as supporting daily operations of the HVAC and Lock Shop teams.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Review and troubleshoot issues with building automation systems (BAS), providing information to supervisors, customer service, and contractors.
  • Modify and set scheduling for HVAC and lighting systems, including special events.
  • Support contractors in repairing HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues with field controllers and devices.
  • Maintain access control hardware across campus.
  • Install, repair, and replace access control hardware.
  • Create and issue keys.
  • Respond to power failures in EAS equipped doors and perform necessary repairs.
  • Operate a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Solicit quotes for repair parts and services.


**Requirements:**
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office products, drawing revision software, and database software.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability.


**Estimated Salary Range:** $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
