Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Manager - Senior

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager - Senior to join our team at Peraton. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of goods and services critical to the operations of our large-scale Department of Defense (DoD) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire procurement process, ensuring compliance with federal and DoD regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to meet the organization's material and tool needs.
  • Lead the procurement team and work with vendors and internal end-users to ensure procurement activities are timely and cost-efficient.
  • Oversee the complete procurement lifecycle, from Request In Process (RIP) to material delivery.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with federal and DoD regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Monitor and manage procurement costs ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to baseline.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supplier, contract, and compliance risks.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of procurement processes to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the vendor selection process, including sourcing, evaluation, award decisions, and purchase orders.
  • Lead contract negotiations with vendors, securing favorable terms and conditions for the DoD.
  • Enter, review and approve contracts, purchase orders, and other procurement documents.
  • Personnel management of the contractor procurement team.

Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in government procurement.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience managing a high volume of procurement activities, including forecasting and software renewal management.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Excel.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting GSA AAS Defense contracts is highly desirable.
  • Experience with CostPoint is a plus.
