About the Role:

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and exams
  • Provide compassionate care to patients, including administering medications and performing venipuncture
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and treatment plans
  • Assist with laboratory work, including blood draws and sample preparation
  • Support the veterinary team with surgical procedures and patient recovery

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Current certification as a veterinary technician or assistant (CVT, RVT, LVT) or willingness to obtain certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to lift and move patients and equipment
