Job Overview

VIP Mortgage, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Lock Desk Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth mortgage operations and providing exceptional support to our sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch customer service to our sales team members, offering guidance and support on mortgage lock-related inquiries.
  • Register and lock loans with investors, ensuring seamless coordination between our internal and investor systems.
  • Promptly update investor locks as loan parameters change, ensuring compliance with VIP's lock policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry within various mortgage systems to maintain up-to-date information.
Requirements
  1. High level of customer service: The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a customer service-focused role, offering support and guidance with patience and professionalism.
  2. Adaptability and speed: This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy. You should be comfortable managing repetitive, detail-oriented tasks while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Basic mortgage industry knowledge: Understanding basic mortgage terminology (such as interest rates, loan types, and lock terms) is beneficial.
  4. Experience with Optimal Blue Pricing Engine and Encompass: A plus, but not required-training is provided.
  5. Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  6. Proficiency with ticketing systems: Experience managing high volumes of tasks using customer service or ticketing software is helpful. Familiarity with lock desk-specific software is a bonus but not necessary.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail: Ability to manage multiple requests, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively. Precision is key in this role.
  8. Patience and focus: This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a stable, routine environment and takes pride in completing detail-oriented tasks.
  9. Dependability: We need someone reliable and consistent, able to manage their workload with minimal supervision. You'll play a critical role in keeping operations smooth by taking on essential daily tasks, allowing other team members to focus on their higher-level responsibilities.
  10. Calm under pressure: Deadlines and high volumes of requests are part of the job-remaining composed and efficient under pressure is important.
