Lake County Solid Waste is seeking a qualified candidate for:

Monitor

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for checking wastes entering the facility for unacceptable materials, recording volume/types of wastes entering, performing physical labor tasks, accepting payment of disposal fees and recording receipts, directing traffic, operating a telephone, computer, and a 2-way radio, working in the Recycling Center, sorting and baling materials, picking up litter, cleaning and maintaining appearance of facilities, performing facility maintenance duties, assisting customers in proper disposal and/or recycling of materials, visiting rural container sites to educate public and enforce waste disposal policies, assisting drivers as necessary, and performing other duties as required.


Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess basic computer skills, the ability to communicate effectively and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, and the ability to perform heavy physical labor, work outdoors in all conditions, work well with the public and co-workers, maintain detailed records, and work flexible shifts, including weekends. Forklift experience is helpful.
