We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Software Developer to join our team at Stellar Science, a cutting-edge scientific software development company based in Albuquerque, NM.

Job Description

As a Scientific Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in creating and extending exciting scientific and engineering analysis applications using modern technologies such as C++23, massive parallelization, and supercomputing resources.

Responsibilities
  • Develop custom software products for research and development in modeling and simulation of high-power microwave systems and high energy laser systems, image and signature prediction, and computational electromagnetics.
  • Implement, understand, and maintain mathematical and scientific codes.
  • Design and develop object-oriented code in C++.
Requirements
  • B.S. in physics, math, engineering, computer science, or a related field; M.S. or Ph.D. desired.
  • Substantial software development experience.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art radio frequency or laser modeling and simulation tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Directed energy modeling and simulation experience.
  • RF or laser source, propagation, and target effects modeling.
  • Cross-platform software development on Linux and Windows.
  • 3D graphics, ray tracing, and physics-based rendering.
  • User interface development with Qt.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including eleven paid federal holidays, three weeks paid time off, a generous fully employer-funded SEP IRA, and fully employer-funded health insurance, dental, disability, and life insurance.

Positions are available in Albuquerque, NM, Dayton, OH, or Tysons Corner, VA (Washington DC area).
