About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Substance Abuse Counselor III to join our team at Amity Foundation. As a key member of our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP), you will play a vital role in delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to support the recovery and well-being of our participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver treatment programming services to participants, conducting group and/or individual sessions to promote positive behavioral change and support recovery.
- Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum, leading and participating in face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Engage participants daily, reinforcing group rules and expectations for participation and completion, and working collaboratively with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans.
- Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records.
- Collaborate with transition/reentry staff, plans and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
- May mentor Counselor I and II Level AOD Counselors/OMCP Mentors, and work collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS, and institution staff to support program goals and objectives.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in substance abuse treatment and counseling.
Requirements:
- A Master's Degree in a social service-related field, or a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a social service-related field with relevant experience and certification in substance abuse treatment.
- Current licensure or registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or certification with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS.
- Excellent interpersonal, written communications, and typing skills, with the ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.
- Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred).
