Position Overview:
As an Ergonomics Specialist at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the design and functionality of our advanced aviation products. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of human factors into our engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:
On a typical day, your tasks may include:
1. Conducting comprehensive evaluations of system design concepts and providing insightful recommendations regarding human factors requirements to interdisciplinary design teams.
2. Designing detailed simulation assessments to define design requirements, utilizing both software tools and physical prototypes.
3. Offering project insights on the selection and application of suitable anthropometric modeling tools for design analysis.
4. Employing appropriate data analysis techniques, including both descriptive and inferential statistics.
5. Preparing and executing detailed testing plans that incorporate data measurement methodologies such as rating scales, surveys, and performance metrics.
6. Developing operational tests to ensure compliance with human factors regulations and preparing thorough engineering documentation to validate compliance.
7. Creating human error analysis frameworks to support certification processes.
8. Documenting all certification testing results in comprehensive engineering reports.
9. Leveraging industry standards and regulatory guidelines to inform design decisions.
10. Establishing best practices and guidelines for human factors methodologies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with fundamental research methodologies and the ethical use of human subjects in evaluations.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with advanced task analysis techniques.
- Background in biomechanics and time study methodologies.
- Knowledge of sensation and perception research.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., CATIA V5 Human Builder, 3DSSPP, iData).
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Relevant flying experience (e.g., PPL, CPL, ATP).
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that equips you to perform the essential functions of the role.
