Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team at Syzygy Plasmonics Inc. in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses and assessments of our catalyst products to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine analysis of catalyst samples using various analytical techniques, including chromatography, spectroscopy, microscopy, and thermal analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into the physical, chemical, and structural properties of catalysts to identify any deviations from specifications or performance benchmarks.
  • Support the development of analytical methods for the characterization and quality assessment of catalyst materials alongside our research and development team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues in catalyst production processes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of analytical data, methodologies, and results in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Participate in the design and execution of experiments to optimize catalyst formulations and manufacturing processes.
  • Stay current with developments in analytical techniques, instrumentation, and industry best practices, and proactively apply this knowledge to improve quality control procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality management systems and processes within the company, including medium to long-term planning of the catalyst quality control function.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control, analytical chemistry, or lab technician role, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or research environment.
  • Strong background in analytical techniques such as XRD, Physisorption and chemisorption, chromatography (GC, HPLC), spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), and thermal analysis (TGA, DSC).
  • Experience with catalyst characterization techniques (e.g., surface area analysis, pore size distribution, catalyst activity testing) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using statistical methods and software tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO standards) is a plus.
