Animal ER Care, LLC is a reputable VECCS II and AAHA-accredited emergency veterinary facility. We are currently in search of a Client Account Specialist who excels in delivering outstanding customer service to enhance our team.
The role of the Client Account Specialist centers around client relations, which includes serving as a communication bridge between clients and veterinarians, managing client finances, collecting necessary deposits, and ensuring a seamless experience for clients from the point of admission to discharge.
Qualifications / Requirements
Educational Background
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Criteria
- Minimum of six (6) months as an employee in a similar role or one (1) year of experience in veterinary or medical settings.
- Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in customer service.

- Demonstrates compassion when interacting with clients and animals, particularly during stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities
- Educates clients about services and associated costs, addressing any inquiries.
- Discusses payment alternatives when necessary.
- Conducts audits of charges at the start and conclusion of each shift.
- Prepares invoices and estimates in collaboration with the veterinary team.
- Secures additional deposits for patients in care as needed.
- Presents euthanasia options to clients and secures written consent for necessary procedures.
- Ensures accurate documentation for admissions, discharges, and follow-up appointments.
- Facilitates the transition to a paperless medical record system.
- Assists Client Care Professionals with phone inquiries during peak times.
- Maintains confidentiality of medical records.
- Ensures organization within the workplace.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Acts as a liaison between the facility and referring veterinarians, providing updates and records.
Skills / Competencies
- Familiarity with veterinary medicine, medical terminology, and related conditions.
- Understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
- Clear and professional communication with both staff and clients.
- Proficient in using standard office equipment and computer applications.
- Knowledge of customer service principles, including confidentiality of client and patient information.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks independently while maintaining a high standard of care.
- Capable of managing a substantial workload while ensuring accuracy.
