Job Summary

The Lead Store Associate plays a crucial role in assisting store management in driving sales and results. This position requires a strong understanding of company values and the ability to demonstrate behaviors that align with them. The Lead Store Associate partners with the management team to prioritize store activities, focusing on in-store customer experience, inventory management, and cashwrap efficiency. They are responsible for promoting a positive work environment and executing operational processes in compliance with company standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by modeling CEL behaviors, redirecting associate behaviors, and responding to customer requests and feedback with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure customers have a positive experience by maintaining DSW store standards, completing daily open/close tasks, and ensuring all associates are providing the benefits of the DSW loyalty program to every customer.
  • Meet metric-based goals by reviewing, understanding, and clearly communicating daily/weekly/monthly goals, and able to clearly communicate business trends to SM/ML.
  • Review daily communication, plan and assign tasks throughout the day, and follow through with required actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or other leader.
Inventory Management

The Lead Store Associate is responsible for increasing sales and success by maintaining sales floor and stockroom, enabling the flow of merchandise to ensure an appealing experience for consumers. They help supervise and participate in the planning and execution of all inventory management-related activities, including freight receipt, placement, markdown, and MOOS. They also assist management with all omni activities in store, including Charge/Send, BOPIS/BOSTS, and Delivery.

Human Resources

The Lead Store Associate works closely with the store leadership team to understand and follow policy and procedure. They support the team by training, coaching, and providing feedback to others, and provide feedback to the Store Manager on associate performance and communicate associate relations issues to the Store Manager for follow-up.

Requirements
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of retail experience.
  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
