Position Overview

We are in search of an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee our sourcing operations. This pivotal role involves managing the procurement of essential materials and services that support our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strategic insight and a comprehensive understanding of sourcing methodologies, supplier management, and procurement best practices specific to the medical device sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute sourcing strategies that ensure cost-effective procurement of materials while upholding stringent quality standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new and alternative suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships to guarantee supply continuity and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering, to synchronize sourcing activities with production needs and product specifications.
  • Provide sourcing guidance for new product development, facilitating transitions from rapid prototyping to stable manufacturing.
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify potential supply chain risks and opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at cost reduction, process enhancement, and supplier performance optimization.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
  • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Participate in critical supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments to gauge capabilities, quality systems, and operational efficiency, addressing any nonconformance issues.
  • Manage projects from contract negotiation through to purchase order issuance, planning, scheduling, validation, and final production launch.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Procurement Manager or in a comparable role within the medical device or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in sourcing injection molded components for plastic and silicone materials, as well as metal and plastic machine parts, including titanium and stainless steel.
  • Strong grasp of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO) pertinent to medical device manufacturing.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000 annually, reflecting the general base range for qualified candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including skills, qualifications, and experience.
