Job Overview

The Senior Performance Supervisor is accountable for overseeing a network of fossil fuel power generation facilities with a combined output exceeding 14,000 MW. This role involves the strategic planning, execution, and management of risk assessment and control initiatives. The supervisor will identify and develop analytical tools to evaluate the efficiency of operational assets and conduct data assessments to uncover potential enhancements in performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate team efforts to pinpoint and address critical performance challenges within the plants. Facilitate root cause investigations, offer technical guidance, and collaborate with external resources to resolve issues that significantly impact financial performance. Enhance the tools utilized for these processes and communicate findings to the executive leadership.
  • Monitor and report on fleet outage timelines, incidents, and performance indicators. Create supportive tools for these functions and liaise between plant personnel and corporate departments such as Engineering, Commercial, and Settlements.
  • Establish performance benchmarks for the fleet and work closely with individual plants to meet these targets.
  • Act as the primary administrator for GADS, ensuring accurate data submission to various Independent System Operators (ISOs). Oversee the operations and maintenance service provider to guarantee timely and precise data collection and reporting.
  • Collaborate with plant managers and technical specialists to implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and meet performance objectives.
  • Analyze the power generation fleet using GADS and PI data, employing analytical tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Python.
  • Apply predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies to monitor and enhance equipment performance. Assess and analyze process variables to determine the status and trends of key operational metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in technical support within a power generation facility, gas turbine operations, or large-scale industrial processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO processes and procedures.
  • Expertise in GADS, OSI PI, and standard industry data collection and analysis tools.
  • In-depth understanding of power plant operations and equipment interrelationships.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and guide team members effectively.
  • Proficient in risk management and decision-making under resource constraints.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and skilled in technical documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in spreadsheet and performance analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
