Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford as an Advanced Practice Provider. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with Hepatology and Liver Transplant Surgeons to manage and care for pediatric liver transplant patients. The role requires a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider who can operate within their full scope of practice, including ordering and prescribing medical interventions/devices, and performing procedures per medical staff privileging.

Key Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for managing outpatient liver pre- and post-transplant patients, overseeing monitoring, medication management, patient education, care coordination, and addressing complications as they arise. They will also serve as a primary provider for inpatient pediatric liver and intestinal transplant patients, participating in rounding, note-writing, and clinical decision-making with Hepatologist and Transplant Surgeon. Additionally, the Advanced Practice Provider will function as an APP in first or second assistant role in the operating room during pediatric transplant surgeries, including liver, intestine, combined organ, multivisceral transplants, and liver resections.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Pediatrics care and/or transplant medicine, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently manage patient care decisions. RNFA certification for NP is preferred, may be required within 1 year of hire based on location. The candidate must also possess a Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university, and be licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of California, with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
