Chief Financial Operations Officer

The Chief Financial Operations Officer will provide high-level financial leadership, developing and implementing financial processes and strategies, and ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of resources.
This position is responsible for:
- Developing and executing strategic plans for the shared services financial team, ensuring operational excellence, high customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to ensure service efficiency, reliability, and compliance with university policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Leading teams in managing the budgets for the shared service units, ensuring accurate financial reporting and budget execution. Collaborating with University Vice Presidents on budget planning.
- Mentoring and developing a team of financial professionals, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Overseeing training programs, communicating business process changes, and engaging unit staff to ensure service alignment and effectiveness.
- Building strong relationships with administrative units, acting as a liaison to ensure seamless collaboration and meet stakeholder needs.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree and five or more years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising staff and coaching employees for improved performance and professional development.
- Proven experience in project leadership, planning, and financial management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance and best practices in financial and administrative operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in managing and mentoring teams with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities to examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, to formulate, and to develop and implement new strategies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
