Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As an MRI Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using state-of-the-art equipment, including preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and displaying images.
  • Select appropriate imaging protocols for patient studies and perform quality assurance scans as required.
  • Work cohesively as a team member within the MRI Department, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including inserting IV catheters and administering contrast agents as needed.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and instruct patients and visitors in MR safety procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and protocols, including reviewing patient schedules for potential contraindications.
  • Communicate with radiologists for protocol clarification and use designated department protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist in the instruction of visitors and medical staff rotating through the area, explaining patient procedures and equipment operation.
  • Mentor new staff and fellow technologists as necessary.
Requirements
  • ARRT (MR) certification
  • Completion of a Medical Imaging Program
  • BLS certification
  • Advanced MR certification required within 18 months of hire date
