Job Summary:

U of L Physicians seeks a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Stroke Specialist to join our team. As a Stroke Nurse Practitioner - Clinical Expert, you will play a critical role in delivering quality, evidence-based patient care and promoting efficient patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide neurological assessment and patient management services to patients with stroke and neurological disorders.
  • Collaborate with the Stroke Team and other medical staff to implement patient plans of care and ensure seamless communication.
  • Review diagnostic tests, order/prescribe medications within scope of practice, and monitor patient response to treatment.
  • Promote research and education initiatives to improve patient outcomes and advance clinical practice.

Requirements:

  • Masters of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum one year of experience as an APRN.
  • Current licensure in the state of Kentucky as an APRN.
  • National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current DEA certificate without restriction.
