Position Summary: We are seeking a Tax Manager to enhance our growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely preparation of our clients' tax returns. The Tax Manager will handle complex tax situations and oversee the work of tax preparers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough technical reviews and approvals of all tax returns and manage governmental tax examinations of varying complexities.
  • Take full responsibility for significant tax returns while delegating tasks to appropriate tax preparers.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and advanced technical skills necessary for providing expert advice to clients.
  • Ensure all client service tasks are completed within budgeted timeframes.
  • Oversee and manage tax research projects to deliver accurate and efficient outcomes.
  • Manage governmental tax examinations and represent clients before relevant tax authorities.
  • Maintain an understanding of the qualifications of all tax staff and assign tasks accordingly.
  • Supervise tax staff and facilitate on-the-job training to enhance their skills.
Supervisory Duties:
  • Develop, coach, and train Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.
  • Be knowledgeable about the qualifications of all tax staff to effectively address their training needs.
  • Participate in the evaluation and review processes of the Tax Department.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in public accounting, showcasing a proven progression in tax complexity and research.
  • At least one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; a Master's degree in taxation is preferred.
  • A current and valid CPA license is mandatory.
