Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, packaging, and distribution of school meals, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collect cash for reduced-price meals and full-paid meals, maintaining accurate records and reporting funds collected.
  • Account for and report funds collected for meals, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Maintain food preparation and dining areas at ratings exceeding state standards, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Keep an inventory of food, supplies, and equipment on hand, making requisitions to ensure a smooth-running food service program.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding and implementation of County Health regulations and MDE School Nutrition Policies/Procedures relative to their work assignments.
  • Assume other responsibilities assigned by the School Nutrition Director or the School Leader.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Solid record of punctuality verified by reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid ServSafe Certification.
  • Ability to read, follow directions, and maintain records.
  • Food service experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with students from all backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students in a diverse school community.
