Job Summary:

The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact between the patient and clinical staff at WellStreet Urgent Care. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a positive patient experience and exceeding expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Office Operations: Greet patients, provide instructions, and maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Insurance Verification: Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes.
  • Clerical Tasks: Perform administrative duties, adhere to established policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Financial Responsibilities: Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility.
  • Support Staff: Assist the practice manager and other staff as required, provide overall support for Physicians and office operations.
  • Documentation: Obtain and document patient history, understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements, and collect and maintain all patient and business documents.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Document all medical interventions.
  • Compliance: Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.
  • Urgent care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work 8am to 8pm 3 days/week, rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination.
