Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive General Manager to lead our team of professionals in a high-volume automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful management positions and a strong desire to succeed with integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure customer satisfaction metrics are met, and customer complaints are resolved promptly.
  • Recruit and Train Staff: Hire, train, and develop service managers, office managers, and sales/finance department managers to meet profit levels.
  • Develop Marketing Strategies: Assist in creating affordable advertising campaigns and programs to increase sales and brand visibility for the dealership.
  • Establish Sales Processes: Attend manager meetings, establish good working relationships with owners, managers, and dealership staff to recommend daily unit sales.
  • Implement Growth Strategies: Align with automotive group objectives by assessing profit and loss, maintaining vehicle inventory that meets local market needs, and reviewing financial statements for accuracy.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Learn and uphold local, state, and federal regulations impacting vehicle sales and the automotive industry.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required; high school diploma or GED equivalent necessary.
  • Experience: Three or more years of experience in a sales manager or general manager position for a dealership or auto group.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the automotive industry and trends.
  • Driver's License: Possess a state-issued driver's license and an acceptable driving record to operate dealership-owned vehicles.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication skills, a track record of leadership, and the ability to interpret profit and loss statements are necessary for success.
