**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the accounting, billing, and payroll functions of the company, ensuring accurate financial records, reports, and information.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform accounting and financial procedures and reporting, manage the accounting, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, medical billing, and payroll functions.
  • Maximize return on and protect financial assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting and financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements; track current and anticipated applicable legislation and advise executive management of necessary changes.
  • Perform regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Maintain company ledgers, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation, and ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closing of company books.
  • Manage cash flows.
  • Prepare annual budget using schedules and financial data; manage to budget objectives.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics.
  • Complete special projects as directed by executive management; provide information vital to decision-making processes.
  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and supervise accounting staff to optimal performance and professional growth. Ensure staff is compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company accounting and financial information.
  • Continually monitor and keep current with professional accounting and finance trends and practices.

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA accreditation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience, with 3 or more years in a managerial role.
  • Experience working within a service industry required.
  • Combination of public accounting and healthcare industry experience with a service provider preferred.
  • Multi-state experience preferred.
  • Medical billing experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, expert knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
