About Grede

Grede is a leading manufacturer of high-quality products, and we're looking for a skilled Operations Manager to join our team. As an Operations Manager at Grede, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all aspects of production operations, including planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing schedules.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budget that relate to production needs, and implement cost-effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production standards, control and minimize labor overtime, and maintain existing equipment.
  • Meet with vendors and/or customers to resolve problems, analyze production issues, and clarify order requirements to increase efficiencies and ensure timely production of parts.
  • Manage all production employees, responsible for performance management and assisting in the hiring of employees within the department.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives, and incorporate lean manufacturing techniques and plant cleanliness among personnel.
  • Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors, and maintain a good attendance record.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or at least eight years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • At least mid-level computer competency, and exposure to specific industry management.
