AVAILABLE SHIFTS AND HOURS

We have openings for both full-time and part-time Registered Nurse positions for day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) shifts. Each shift spans 12 hours, three days per week, with shift differentials available. All full-time RNs are required to rotate weekend shifts.

TRAINING AND ORIENTATION

Lakeview is dedicated to comprehensive training and safety protocols. All newly hired RNs will participate in a 3-day hospital-wide orientation followed by 2 weeks of unit-specific orientation with a designated preceptor. We also offer shadow shifts for interested candidates.

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse

  • Deliver and coordinate patient care by evaluating both physical and behavioral health needs, developing and executing nursing care plans, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating patients and their families on various health conditions.
  • Provide nursing services in accordance with the standards and scope of practice as defined by the state Nurse Practice Act, as well as facility and corporate policies.
  • Ensure clarity and accuracy of physician's orders, particularly when taken verbally, and transcribe appropriately per established protocols.
  • Continuously assess patient status and document pertinent information, notifying physicians of significant changes such as detox difficulties, medical emergencies, or alterations in response to medications.
  • Develop nursing treatment plans tailored to assessed needs, with the initial plan completed upon patient admission.
  • Exhibit knowledge and application of universal precautions in the delivery of direct patient care.
  • Administer medications accurately as per physician orders and maintain precise documentation of controlled substance administration.
  • Efficiently manage admission and discharge processes as directed.
  • Establish therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, providing focused attention, and practicing rational detachment.
  • Guide or coordinate unit activities as directed.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, colleagues, and others involved in patient care.

Education and Licensure Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • A current Registered Nurse (RN) license as mandated by the state of Georgia is necessary.
  • Prior experience in psychiatric nursing is highly preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certifications are preferred (training provided upon hire).
  • First Aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
