Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Coarc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives, helping them to develop skills for independence, employment, and community life. This includes assisting with daily living tasks, providing emotional support, and promoting socialization and community participation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals served, their families, and support teams.
  • Provide support and assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Assist individuals with decision-making, problem-solving, and self-advocacy.
  • Support individuals in developing skills for independence, employment, and community life.
  • Collaborate with support teams to develop and implement individualized plans and goals.
  • Document services delivered and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Exceptional written, communication, and basic computer skills.
