Custodian Position at Williams College

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our Facilities Department at Williams College. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our campus facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform general cleaning duties throughout designated areas on campus, including offices, classrooms, and common areas.
  • Assist with light maintenance work, such as repairing furniture and fixtures.
  • Participate in snow shoveling and other winter maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to bed making and other summer conference season tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Previous experience in general cleaning, maintenance, and carpet and floor care is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and ability to operate cleaning equipment and sanitizing dispensing units.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
