Job Title: Medical Lab Technician I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Medical Lab Technician I, you will be responsible for performing waived and non-waived tests in an accurate and timely manner, with supervision. You will also assist with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing in an accurate and timely manner, according to established policies and performance standards.
  2. Recognize and ensure the validity of abnormal patient and/or QC results for testing.
  3. Ensure the appropriate use of supplies and materials, and assist with inventory management.
  4. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  5. Process and prepare patient samples as required, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
  • MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology is required.
