We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Operations and Accounting Specialist to join our team at Sun Federal Credit Union.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial operations, with experience in accounts payable, expense reporting, and general ledger management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of professional accounting duties, including maintaining accurate and timely financial records, processing invoices and expense reports, and analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Maintain accurate and timely accounts payable records, process invoices, and verify vendor information.
- Expense Reporting: Accrue and process expense reports, including corporate card payments and personal account reimbursements.
- General Ledger Management: Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare financial reports, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Supply Ordering: Coordinate and initiate supply orders for the Credit Union Support Center.
- Tax Administration: Process member backup withholding, prepare annual IRS form 945 and 945a, and manage sales tax reports and payments.
- General Accounting Duties: Complete monthly GL reconcilements, variance reporting, and month-end financial reports, and prepare account entries and financial analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- One to three years of previous accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures, including account reconciliation and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work under deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with credit union personnel and vendors.
