We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter II to join our team at First Citizens Bank. As a key member of our governmental lending team, you will be responsible for underwriting complex commercial portfolios and providing guidance on structuring, servicing, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting: Underwrite commercial credit actions according to applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Review financial statements, communicate with clients or prospects, and perform analysis to recommend borrower risk ratings and appropriate loan structuring.
- Analysis: Source, compile, and interpret financial data to support structuring and approval of loans. Review industry information and comparisons, key risks and mitigants, and collateral to form a general business overview of the borrower.
- Risk Management: Identify risks through reviews, analysis, and research of new and existing commercial credit requests and relationships. Work closely with Bank associates and partners to resolve risk issues, communicating review schedule and potential changes in the commercial portfolio.
- Business Support: Assist in identifying cross-sales opportunities for new and existing relationships based on analysis activities. Identify servicing information and prepare credit analysis documentation. Partner with associates and clients to determine needs and structuring of new requests, renewals, and modifications.
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.
- OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.
Preferred Skills: Experience underwriting government/municipal loans, experience within the credit division of a financial institution, familiarity with IRS regulations and state statutes as they pertain to government lending processes.
