Highway Maintenance Worker II: Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team as a Highway Maintenance Worker II. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy motorized equipment, including backhoes, tandem dump trucks, sand spreaders, and motor graders.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain heavy motorized equipment, including backhoes, tandem dump trucks, sand spreaders, and motor graders.
Perform manual labor tasks, including painting and making minor repairs of buildings and water systems at maintenance facilities.
Set up traffic control according to MUTCD Standards to warn motorists of roadwork ahead.
Perform other job-related duties, including litter and debris pick up, removal of dead animals, pothole patching, and assisting during emergencies.
Requirements:
One (1) year of related work experience.
Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping, and physically manipulating objects of varying size, shape, weight, and material.
