Responsibilities:
• Assist in creating, reviewing, and coordinating architectural floor plans, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and equipment plans of clinical spaces.
• Direct or review the work of project team members to ensure high-quality results.
• Follow the planning and design information through the production and implementation documentation process to ensure continuity of the design intent.
• Participate in the conceptual design of healthcare projects, translating client operational models into architectural design and medical plans.
• Function as a contact person for client questions and concerns, applying governing regulatory codes and hospital licensing standards to ensure compliance.
• Facilitate discussions with end-users to generate solutions in real-time, coordinating or preparing drawings and designs in accordance with HKS standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
• Understand research methodology and integrate research into practice, participating in and leading team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of client meetings, preparing meeting minutes and other appropriate documents for consultant coordination meetings.
• Understand fundamental accounting principles and the project accounting process, collaborating in and leading the delivery of projects on defined budget requirements.
• Maintain accountability to project plans and planned utilization rates, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Support the business development process by identifying new opportunities, marketing current clients for repeat business, and assisting with proposals, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications:
• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Architectural Registration strongly preferred.
• Typically 5+ years of experience with a healthcare design and planning background.
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software (including Rhino and Grasshopper) preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
• Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts, including patient safety and evidence-based design principles.
• Proficient knowledge of guidelines for design and construction of healthcare facilities.
• Strong knowledge of architectural building systems, building codes, and accessibility guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
