The Singletary Center for the Arts is seeking enthusiastic students to join our team as Back of House Team Members. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the technical aspects of our events, including stage management, lights, and sound. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with stage management, including setting up and striking sets, managing props, and coordinating with performers and crew members.
- Support the technical aspects of events, including operating lights and sound equipment, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Collaborate with UK faculty and students, Lexington community members, and professional touring groups to ensure a smooth and successful event.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of sound and light equipment, and assist with training and maintenance as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to event attendees, performers, and crew members.
Requirements:
- Enrollment as a UK student is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds, and sit or stand for long periods of time.
