This description outlines the essential duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and physical demands associated with the Cashier role. Management retains the authority to modify or add to these duties as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately verify and balance cash in the register at the start and end of each shift.
  2. Utilize the cash register to process transactions, issue receipts, and handle refunds or exchanges as needed.
  3. Deliver exceptional customer service through positive interactions, addressing inquiries about products, pricing, and promotions.
  4. Assist in preparing the store for promotional events and ensure product displays are attractive and well-stocked.
  5. Handle returned merchandise by verifying documentation and processing returns according to company policies.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
  7. Participate in all required training programs to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.
  8. Perform additional tasks as assigned to support store operations.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and cash management.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform various physical tasks as needed.

Work Environment:

The Cashier will work in a retail environment with moderate noise levels.
