ESL Specialist

Morgan Community College is seeking a highly skilled ESL Specialist to join our team. As an ESL Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of English Language Learners (ELLs) at our institution.

• Identify and analyze the needs of ELLs, providing direct services and tracking progress toward goals.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusion, diversity, and equity in the classroom and campus community.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment for ELLs.
• Provide language support and cultural orientation to ELLs, helping them navigate college life and academic programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and agencies to provide resources and support for ELLs.

• Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish, with the ability to interpret and translate verbal and written material.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Experience working with ELLs, preferably in a higher education setting.
• Knowledge of cultural competence and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

• Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods for ELLs.
• Experience working with enterprise software packages, such as Banner and EAB Navigate.
• Ability to develop and implement programs and services to support ELLs.
