Job Opportunity

Morgan Community College is seeking a highly qualified ESL Instructor to join our team. As an ESL Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching English language skills to students at the beginning or intermediate levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of ESL students
  • Coordinate with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to ensure student needs are being met
  • Record-keeping of student performance, including test results, subject gains, and attendance
  • Grading and providing constructive feedback on assignments
  • Composing course outlines and syllabi
  • Collaborating with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to connect students to opportunities

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an associate's degree in adult education or a related field
  • Minimum of two years' experience teaching English Language Learners
  • Strong technological skills and experience in using the MS Office suite, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems
  • Strong ability to communicate and interact with culturally diverse and at-risk populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in ESL/TESOL, adult education, or related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Somali
  • Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) from the Colorado Department of Education or willingness to obtain it within three years of hire
